Sixth-Ranked Women's Cross Country Wins Paul Short Run, No. 20 Georgetown Men Finish Third - Georgetown University Official Athletic SitePublished by
Oct. 5, 2013 WASHINGTON - In its second weekend of competition, the Georgetown cross country program traveled to Bethlehem, Pa., for the 40th running of the Paul Short Invitational, hosted by Lehigh University. The Georgetown women, ranked No. 6 by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) won the nationally-renowned event in the college gold division, a field of 47 teams. The 20th-ranked men placed third of 47 teams in the college gold division. "This was the first race of the season for Samantha Nadel," Head Women's Cross Country Coach Michael Smith said. "She was part of the US Junior Cross Country team that raced in Poland last year so we knew she was going to make a big impact on the team. In her first race of the season, she did a great job leading the team today.
