DyeStat Discussions - EP724 - Duncan Hamilton
Published by
Montana State's Duncan Hamilton joins DyeStat editor Doug Binder to discuss his consistent year-over-year progress as a runner growing up and going to college in Bozeman, Mont. Hamilton reflects on his time at Bozeman High and being part of the 2016 Nike Cross Nationals championship team as a junior and how he came to decide to stay home and attend MSU. In college, Hamilton found success on the track in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and rose through the ranks quickly to become one of the best in the U.S. this year with hopes of making it to the World Championships. Hamilton finished second at the NCAA Division 1 Championships, running 8:18.88, and finished fourth in the U.S. Championships, missing that Worlds spot by one place. Montana State's men are ranked No. 25 and have a chance to qualify for the NCAA Championships as a team, getting an opportunity to compete Oct. 15 on the Oklahoma State course in Stillwater at the Weiss-Crockett Invitational. Hamilton has qualified twice already as an individual. |
